SISTERS TO SISTERS

HISTORY

OF

SISTERS TO SISTERS

Sisters To Sisters is truly a Ministry of Women ministering to women. God birth this ministry into my spirit back in 1989. I'm now known as Pastor/Dr. Brenda Queen, but back in those days I was just another pastors wife put in a position of dealing with women in the church. "But the word declares without a vision the people perish." So God impressed upon me that as a pastors wife, I too am called; and who else than a woman to relate to another woman.  God called and appointed me to this ministry then spoke the title "Sisters To Sisters" as the name of our women's ministry. Back in a day when they were just called women of the church. Over the years we have truly matured and grown. today I now oversee the ministry and our appointed women minister is Willie Mae Elmore. She has been here for the last (9) nine years and together we build faith, character, love and the word of God in these women. We're building lives and leading by example here at Christian Church where Dr. Paul Queen Sr. is Founder and Senior Pastor

PRAISE AND WORSHIP

BYRON JACKSON, ELDER OF PRAISE & WORSHIP

ZECHARY QUEEN, DIRECTORY OF PRAISE & WORSHIP

            Zechary & Kendra Queen

A small town country boy, and a big city girl is what makes the Queens a pair that could only have been placed together by God. Zechary R. Queen, a Port Arthur native that was born the middle son of two other Queen boys. Kendra Witherspoon-Queen on the other hand grew up in the big city of Los Angeles, CA. The only girl her mother had, who was constantly overseen by her rather large and loving brother Monterio.             Early on in life, the two; though different in many ways somehow had similar taste in the arts. Kendra and Zechary both grew up singing in the church. They also enjoyed listening to other genres as well. At an early age you could find them both bobbing there heads and singing along to vocalists such as Michael McDonald, Donny Hathaway, Michael Bolton, and Marvin Gaye just to name a few. The females that influenced their careers were the great Tammy Terrell, Patti Labelle, Whitney Houston and even Kendra’s mother; Beverly Witherspoon of The Legendary Clara Ward Singers. Such groups like Chicago, The Bee Gees, and later on in life like New Edition taught them what great harmonies could do to the soul. Not for one minute forgetting about the artists and ministers that gave them their spiritual foundation like: The Winans, Commissioned, Men of Standard, Darryl Coley, Kirk Franklin, and Mary Mary.            It was in their collegiate careers where God would allow their paths to cross and their destiny begin to blossom. Kendra going to Prairie View A&M University on a Music/Vocal performance scholarship, and Zechary changing his major from Architectural Engineering to Music/Vocal performance. When they first heard each others voice they knew it was more than just a physical attraction. It was love. The love that only two God fearing musicians could share. They began dating, and years later sealed their union with a covenant made before God. God has blessed them with 3 beautiful daughters: Kennedy, Kamerin, and Kamille Queen who all share in there parents passion for God, music and the arts. After being together for more than 11 years their love for God and each other is now stronger than ever.             Now you can find Kendra and Zechary Queen doing what they enjoy doing most. Giving thanks to their matchmaker through the gift of song. They are both ministers of music and youth pastors at Christian Church of  Port Arthur. You can also see them at many different events and occasions such as: weddings, talent showcases, conferences, stage plays or anywhere there is the need for great male and female voices singing together on one accord.
